Ipswich Thistle Pipe Band is one of Australia's oldest pipe bands, formed in 1909. In recent times the band has made a name for itself as a group of professional and passionate people, resulting in invitations to perform in New Zealand, France and Moscow. The band also successfully produces "The Ipswich International Tattoo". 
Ipswich Thistle Pipe Band in conjunction with the Ipswich City Council and the Ipswich Events Corporation presented the 5th annual Ipswich International Tattoo - A Celtic Journey. Aladair Hutton "the voice of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo" was the special guest of the 2008 Ipswich International Tattoo.
Also including performances by the Tattoo massed pipes and drums, highland dancers, irish dancers, Gaelic singers & dancers, Welsh choir, orchestra and much more! The official DVD and merchandise is available for order now. View the 2008 order form. |

In recent years the band has been very active both in Ausralia and overseas, including: International Military Tattoo in Red Square Moscow, 36th Annual Interceltique Festival de Lorient France, Grade 4 New Zealand Champions, Queensland Grade 3 Pipe Band Champions.The band has also produced the mulit-award winning "Ipswich International Tattoo" annually since 2004. |

Ipswich Thistle Pipe Band Presents the 2008 Gathering of the Clans - Pipe Band, Solo Piping & Drumming Championships. Saturday 30 August, Limestone Park, Ipswich. The day's attractions includes: all grades Pipe Bands championship, solo piping & drumming, Drum Majors, under 18's Drum Majors, massed bands and scottish stalls.
